Roads were not good, transport, limited, and each vil- lage tended te be a self-contain- ed unit. But with the great im- provement in transport. this pattern is rapidly breaking up Consolidated schools. ‘supermar- ket. shopping in towns. city en- tertainment are all taking farm- ers and their families away from the villages

This program will take a typical Saskatchewan community — and the prairies have this problem even more ac- utely than the other provinces— and show not only how it is. chang- ing, but also how the less desir- able aspects can be minimized ; end the change broughi about in an ordiy fasmon. East Baltie Project Ciub held their regular monthly meeting in the East Baltie School. Fourteen members were present. The busi- ness meeting, opened with the club pledge. Roll call was answer ed and new club business dealt with. Mavis Rose and Edith Mac- Gregor were appointed to look after the recreational period for the next regular meeting.
Following the business meet- ing, letters on “Sportsmanship” and “Farm Home Safety” were read and discussed by the club members. The meeting adjourn- ed on a motion by Richard Mac- Gregor, seconded by Janet Dix- on.
