Those young people o! the Province who have ap- plied for the course in Bricklaying and Plastering are hereby notified that this course will begin on Thurs- day, December ist.

There is still room in this murse for others who may be interested. Applications should be sent without

delay to the Director of the Vocational School since the number of students in this course will be limited to 10. Also beginning on December 1st, will be a course in Practical Electricity. This course will include Elec- trical theory, houso wiring, motor wiring and other practical elements. This course will be of six month's duration. Students taking the above course can_ be granted two year's credit on their electrical apprentice- ship. Applications should be made as soon as possible to Ralph MacLean, Director 0t the Vocational School.

As may be seen, i! West. had opened his top diamond. his side quickly would have collected four tricks-two natural diamond tricks. a diamond ruff by West, one ciilb trick. Actually. however West was so glad to have an ace that his partner could not know about. tlzat he laid down that. card! It. was a most. unfortunate action! East covered the diamond king with the ace, since he could he very sure that South would piav him for the ace. south ruffed. then went. back to dummy with s trump and led the diamond jack through East. This time. East tried to dis- semble by playing low. but. South had made up his mind that the ace and queen of diamonds were a vital part. of East's double. and South simply discarded a clrb. On the next. diamond lead, East's ace um‘. ruffed away hy the declarer, who then returned to dummy tor the third time tn discard his remain- ing two clubs on the established diamonds.

It is true that South took a slight risk by not drawing nhl- second trump immediately. but his decision to go “all out" {or thirteen tricks was well rewarded in the overtrick bonus!
