Although he was lavish in his praise of what farmers had alre dy accomplished in Prince Edward - lend. Mr. H. Mr. Hannsm was speaking at e farmers rally at O'Leary Hell. There was only a fair attendance. It was felt that many had been kept away by the rush of hay mak-

ing.

Mr. W. J. Reid of Kinkore presid- ed and introduced Mr.‘ R.A. Profitt of Freetown. president of the PE. I. Federation of Agriculture. Mr. Profitt in tum introduced Mr. Hannsm. The only other speaker was Mr. Li". McIseaA: who des- cribedthe progress being made in junior farmers organizations.

Mr. l-Iannam expressed his great pleasure at being able to attend the meeting. He said he was veryimruch impressed with what he had seen here. and men- tioned particularly the great in- terest here in soil improvermnt.

He said he was impressed, too, by the splendid co-operation given by the Junior groups to the De- partment of Agriculture and by their eagerness to learn more about their job.

He traced the history of the Federation and spoke of its strength, with a present member- ship of some 400,000.

Decide Death 0f Summer Visitor Due To Drowning

The first witness Winniired Tanton of Brighton, Mass, stated she had gone to Ives Point on Monday afternoon along with her sister and the deceased. She had gone out with the deceased about a quarter mile at low tide to dig clams and after a. time returned to the car on the shore and re- joined her sister. leaving the de- ceased, who continued to walk along the shore and around a point out of view. The tide was low. He was a very good swimmer. Later when deceased did not re- turn she went in search of him and could not locate him. She re-. turned to the car and themoalled the home for help as she felt something was wrong.

Mrs. John Bogan, sister of Win- nifred Tanton corroborated the evidence given by the iirst wit- nass. ,

Major Scott Lynn, who was camped st Ives Point on Monday. said that at about B. PM. two young girls had cane his trail- er and notified him that a body was lying on the shore, some dis- tance away. He went over in com- pany with a young" couple who were nearby and brought the body ashore. He applied artificial res- piration for about half an hour until the coroner arrived and pro- nounced the man deed. He did not see anyone on the ssndbar during the afternoon.
