Is Madonna good for feminism? I don’t know but you can bet your bustier that she is good for women.

THe article states that "she changes her image so often ... the result is fake and unreal." She supposedly negates all substance to her as a person. When Madonna is on stage she is an actress. She is not trying to show her, audience her personal, private side but|her different stage personas. To her each song is a one act drama to play out. If she apears "fake and unreal" that is because she wants you to see that part of her. She is a performer, not your best friend. Her private side is just that, private.

Comparing Madonna to Barbie is insane. Madonna has a brain. As she controls her movie, stage and music control she gets what she wants. And gives the people what they want. It is not her job to be "deep". She is a performer, not a philosopher. She has facets of her personality that you will never see, because she doesn’t want you to.

Exploitation is to "turn to advantage; make use of for one’s own end." Thus Madonna is using the fact she is female to her advantage. What’s wrong with that? Would you rather if she had to hide the fact she was female in order to be successful. Shall we go back to the days to George Eliot, a successful female writer, who had to hide behind a male pen name. The amount of clothes Madonna wears is entirly her own choice. I believe she has the

attitude to be successful no matter what she wears.

This article considers a "giant step backwards" is being taken by Madonna

"the aggressor." "She is seeking sex and calling the shots." Why is this a bad thing?

Okay. | Let’s all look like Roseanne Barr and die from heart attacks. That’s a good plan. Madonna’s toned body is not excessive. She can look good. And dresses to show it

off. And there are a lot of jealous people out there.

an attitude. An attitude that tells me that I can do anything I want. It tells me if I want something I can get it and it doesn’t matter if I am a man or a woman. It tells

me to "express myself" and get whit I deserve which is everything.

Do you know that we have to PAY for our

homework in some of the courses at UP: BL?

It is bad enough having to pay for the increased tuition fees, and then to spend hundreds of dollars on text books. However, the idea of us paying for our homework is absolutely ridiculous.

When I say "pay for our homework" I mean the amount of money spent on photocopying. There are professors who want us to photocopy the materials we used for our essays. In other words, they want to make sure that we are not
