The death of Peter J. Martin, formerly of Greenvale, near Hun- lbl‘ F-IVBY. P_l-'1. occurred at Pen- naoock, NH, on April fl. He was in hh Gist year.

Mr. Martin operated a highly eucceuful farming business for many years at Groenvale where be specialized in dairy cattle and products. having been successful on two occasions in win top awards from the North Wiltshire Butter Factory. He also imported and sold Western horses.

In 1946 he sold his farm to the late Walter Weeks and moved with his family to Penxiaoook, NJ-1., where he purchased a large dairy farm which be enlarged and put under cultivation. branching into the production of tomatoes. potatoes. turnips and other vege- tables.

A record orowd'fllled Prince of wales auditorium last night to see the‘ John Deere movie program presented by A. Plckard Pam Tractors Ito. This special feature consisted of four colored shat subjects: “The Job Ahead". “The Safety Pin". "Oddities in Farming“ and “What's New for 1051?", the latter showing a parade of new John Deere implements available to farmers in the coming months.

The main attraction “Mr. Christ- mas" was a beautifully told story of a small town’: Centennial cele- bration and how it affects the "Dear Hearts and Gentle People” who dwell there .

Opposition members in the leg- islature said a few weeks ago that Valdmanis was investing money in a New Brunswick fish plant while working in St. John's.

Premier Smnllwood described the filing of charges against Val- dmanis as the “most unpleasant duty I have ever had to perform." The brother. Dr. Osvald Vald- manis. said he did not know what the arrest “is all about“ and said Alfred had told him nothing.
