Farewell Gathering

On Wednesday evening. Oct. 2nd trlends and neighbors gathered st the home o! Mr. Charles D. Tay- lor, Freetown, in honor o! Mrs. Scott Jardlna and her dauithter. Mildred who are soon to leave this community and take up residence in Summerside.

After all had assembled, Mr. Ai- llson Proiltt. acting as chairman. explained the object of the gather- ing. A very appropriate address was read by Mrs. Roy Iurlis and the presentation oi g purse ot money from the community was made by Mrs. Elton Cairns. The Women: Institute remembered these two tsithful members with a gift of an electric toaster presented by Mrs. Jsrdine Stavert. All heart~ lly joined in singing "For they are jolly good fellows." Mrs. Jardine and Mildred each expressed their regret at leaving Freetown and their appreciation for the lovely gifts received.

A hearty sing-song with Mr. J. B. Lewis at the piano was particl- pated in by all. At the con ‘ ‘ of the evening a delicious lunch was swved by the ladies and otter singing “Auld Lang Sync" in the traditional manner, all departed to their homes wishing Mr. Jardine and Mildred much happiness in their new home.
