Tue annual Conference of the Methodist Charch of New Brunswick and P. E L, will be held at Sackville on the 17th of June. The Nova Scotia conference wiil be held at Amberst, ten miles distant from Sackville, on the same day. Both conferences will thus be enabled to exchange fraternal visits.

Gospet Army.—At the meeting to-night Stuff Capt. Herbert will give an acconnt of the work and orgwization of the Gospel Army. She will take her “*fareve il” on Thursday evening, 20th inst., when she will give an account of her conversion. There will be a silver collection at the door on this occasion, in aid of the Training Home for Officers of the Army. The meetings on Sun- day and yesterday were crowded. Last night Capt. Herbert took the parable of the Prodi- gal Son for her aidress, aud drew a compari- gon between him and the ‘“*fast young man of the present age. It was a pity that all the fast young men ” of Charlottetown were not present to hear it.—Com.

Company »though emall in nunber is rich in talent, and fully sustained the high tion which preceded it. The whistling soloist—Miss E!la M. Chamberlin —de- monstrated beyond the possibility of doubt that she isan artist in her peculiar line. She gave several very diffcult solos ina manner which captivated the andience, and elicited loud applause. Misa Edith Christie ably sustained her reputation as a violinist, playing three or foureelections in a brilliant manner. Mr. J. F. Gilder, the piano virtuoso, played every one of his numbers in excellent time, and was much appreciated, Mr. Frank G bumorous voalist, and elocutionist, is a whole comedy compauy in himself He is equally at home in Irish, Dutch, French, or American comedy, and in the selection and rendition of his numbors excellent judgment and skill is shown. In summing up we may say that never before did a company performingin the Y. M. C. A. ob tain such a hold upon the audience as did the Redpath Concert Company last evening, every number being thoroughly enjoyed and enthusiastically encored. The pro- gramuie to-night will be totally changed. Those who appreciate good vocal and in- strumental music as well as those who can ‘njoy a hearty langh, should attend in full force,

Wiggins’ Storm. An Ottawa despatch saya: E Stone Wiggins, of the Finance Department here, the weil known prophet and astronomer, still adheres to his prediction made two years ago, of astorm of excess ive magnitude to take place in September next. Hesays the storm will rank in point of destructiveness as one of the greatea events of 1886, It will rage in the British Isles from the 2dthto the 27th of Septem ber inclusive, and striking acrosa_ the Atlantic, it will be felt with great severily in America on the evening of the 29th. breadth will extend from Quebec to Sandy Hook and the storm king wiil be accompanied by tremendously high tides as well as by a wind blow-

ing at the rate of sixty miles an honr. The storm will be northeast at Quebec, while at Sandy Hook it will be experienced in an easterly direction. The approaching autumn will be remarkable for great earth- quakes in North and South America, both preceding and following the storm. The duration of the latter in America will be several days, during which the danger to the ocean marine will be anything fut trifling. These phenomena are ascribed to the peculiar positions to be occupied by the planeta in September next,
