Orrawa, Juve 11.—In co mm ittee of sup ply on the railway estimates, Sir Charles Tupper asked for information in reference to the agreement for the extension of the Intercolonial to Moutreal.

This motion brought on a lively discus- sen. Hon. Mr. Blair said this arrange- ment had been concluded so far as:poasible without parliamentary authority. The terms had been agreed upon with the Graod Trunk Railway and the Drummond Counties Kvilway to secnre an extension of the Inte-coloxial into Montreal not later than November next. ‘The facts bronght were that the equivalent of seven millioa dollars wil! be added to the Federal debt for a zigzag live 76 miles lounger than the present route, via St. Jobn. The scheme is a good thing for the G:an Trunk ‘and some Mon'treal cap'talists, who get clear of a white elephent road. The discnssion will be resomed when Hoo, Mr. Dlair briugs dow the ineasure.
