UPEI Student Exchanges Travel, Fun, Experience...

All of you who are interested in studying in another country next year, come and check out the STUDENT EXCHANGE programs offered at UPEI.

There are programs offered to travel to Australia, Ohio, West Virginia, New Mexico, and Pennsylvania. There are also other exchange programs in the works. Student Exchanges are a terrifec way to travel, learn about another cultures, and experience life abroad!

Stop by Student Services in the Robertson Library Building and see the Student Exchange Advisor for more information.

Students for literacy at UPEIl

A new organization at UPEI is proving that university students can find time to help in the community, even though they are busy with studies and part-time jobs to pay their tuition and expenses. Students for Literacy @ UPEI has joined the over 30 campus pro; S across Canada, sponsored and supported by Frontier College and working to help Canadians read and write better.

Recently 22 UPEI students attended a two-day training session with Frontier College facilitators, and now those students are fanning out across Charlottetown to put their training into practice. They are helping with seniors at the Garden Home, working with students in elementary schools who need homework help, and running read for fun reading circles and reading tents in several locations. While many students are studying in the education faculty, there are business, science, nursing and arts students participating in the program.

Future plans for Students for Literacy @ U.P.E.1. include recruiting more tutors, seekin other community locations for their services, and helping Frontier College celebrate its 1 anniversary in 1999.
