United Fund Holds Kick-off Meeting For Kensington Area

A supper meeting of United The Ladies‘ Auxiliary of the Fund officials in Kensington Kensington Legion served the last night was the first of 21 supper. such meetings to kick-off the rovince-wide campaign. Chair- man of the evening was Willard Stewart, and guest speaker was Brigadier W. W. . presi- dent of the Island United Fund.

Among those attending the meeting were 24 area captains from the Kensington Regional High School district, the dis- rict‘s campaign chairman. Everett Donald, and Frank MacDonald. provincial cam- paign chairman.

UMMERSIDE — It was an- nounced over the weekend that judges for the Miss Centennial Queen Pageant being held in conjuction with the Centennial Fall Fair which opens today. have been chosen.

Senator Elsie Ionian. Mayor A. Walthen Gaudet of Char- lottetown and Francis "Ginger" MacQuarrie have consented to act as judges for the pageant which takes place Friday and Saturdy evenings. Senator In:

The judging will be based on charm. ' grace, carriage, intellect. in groomin beauty and rsonality of each contestant. The judges will also interview each contestant at a luncheon to be held Friday evening.

Following the luncheon the contestants will participate in the “Parade of Beauties" which will leave the CNR station at 7.15 pm.

Two bands will take part in the parade - the Miscouche Band and the Royal Canadian Air Cadet Band from the local squadron.
