U.P.E.1. NOMINATIONS!

On Friday, October 2, 1992, U.P.E.1. Student union will be opening nominations for this fall’s General Elections. Forms will be available at the Student union at 9:08am on October 2. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the office between 9:00am - 4:00pm, Monday to Friday (566-0539).

CLASS EXECUTIVE:

(President, Vice-President, Treasurer / Secretary) Freshman

Junior

Sophomore

Senior (Treasurer ff Secretary only)

For those of you who are wondering what any of these people do, 1°11 give a short description of each.

COUNCILLORS (includes Education, Business, Nursing, Freshman

student representatives):

- Act as liaison between their particular constituency groups and the SU as a whole

- Represent the views and interests of sub-organizations,

associations, societies, and clubs active within their

constituency, with due regard to the concerns and interests of

the SU as a whole - Sit on at least one SU committee during office tenure

OMBUDSPERSON:

The Ombudsperson shall:

-~ Be elected for a term of one year

- Endeavour to aid any member of the UPEISU who encounters

difficulties with the University and/or the UPEISU

- Inform students as to what recourse are available for prominent student concerns on campus and publicize these

recourse through campus media

~ Be a non-voting member of council

- Be entitled to attend any meeting of the UPEISU including meetings which are ordinarily considered confidential, such as Hiring and Selection, Executive, or special investigatory

meetings

- Be entitled access to the files, business reports and financial records of the UPEISU

- Not assume any other position on campus during office tenure

CLASS EXECUTIVES: SENIOR: Senior class executive shall be responsible for

organizing activities and raising funds for Senior Week of their graduating year. nie

ALL OTHER CLASS EXECUTIVES: shall raise money to plan for their graduating year. Junior class also assists with Senior

Week activities.
