one member of the STudent Council came over and_began

talking to us. We found out a few things that might« interest you as a student body. ' The first student union.meeting was held‘Sunday,

September 21 at the Student Union office in the Barn.

Our constitutional expert, Brendan (Brennie) Bolger was speaker. The meeting lasted fron six 'til ten p.m. and everything from fidges and stoves to the Personnel Board was discussed. President Brown, otherwise known as 'King', finally decidedxto

spill his guts about the trip_that he and T.W.

took to Ottawa. 'King' explained that their trip was paid for by the federal government, so that T.W., not wanting to let a free thing go to waste, decided UPEI should be represented by the President and the TReasurer. but rather the Treasurer. WHY WAS THIS?

King stated that the conference had a very , radical position; but, not letting his image down, he agreed with the radical ideas while there, and once back in his kingdom, he shot them down.

The next topic of interest is the radio station. We've heard around campus of a new law that has been passed, stating that a non—Canadian cannot hold a controlling interest in an organ- ization such as a radio station inside Canada. This means that under the laws of Canada and the CRTC, if an American or.anyone else should beccne president of the UPEI student union, the radio station could not have its licence renewed.

To protect the station frcn this possible problem, the radio station must forr its own corporation. ’“v ’ _.

Incorporation is an expensive business, and CIMN could get a bit out of hand as a separate business here at UPEI. Set up a committee to look into it, Philip, and remember it was one

As usual, Ms. Parlee has done nothing wrong. Scme would believe that she's not doing anything at all, because as a politician, she's just too perfeCt. This past weekend, Sue headed off to Halifax in her rented car (paid for by the Student Union) and at last finally got to attend a ccnfer— ence. Come on, Sue, will you please flub up and do something wrong - people are beginning to wonder if you;re real orxjust a prOgrammed robot who does a good job at everything. we don't mind praising you, but every week -— it's getting a bit sickening.

We can't really praise you, John, but then again we can't put you down because you haven't done too much this past week. However, T.W., you can expect scme people down at the Barn in the next couple of weeks, for a press conference about the balance sheet.

We've asked a few people around campus what's puzzling them with regards to the Student Union and we've come up with these questions. Please look into them, P.D., T.W., Parloo and MacKenzie. They're wort— investigating:

— Why does the Photo Club get a budget of $500 and all the other organizations combined get a budget of $575?

— Is any new equipment (i.e. games) going to arrive in the games room? .

— Why do UPEI students We; fined for committing petty crimes at the Main Events, when non-students just get kicked out? ‘
