Corbin remained by her to the last moment, and in a most praise- worthy manner succeeded in saving the Mails, and almost all moveable property. The night was densely foggy, and it 1s supposed that the compasses mnst have been deranged, which caused the unto- ward accident. Capt. Corbin had only zoue below ha!fan hour before she struck, and in the mind of every man of christ- ian feeling he must stand cleer of ail blame in this most unfortunate matter.— Halifax Acadian Recorder.

At Brudenell River.onthe 4th of April, after a long and lingering i!lness, borne wite great patience and fortitude, Mr. Nathaniel M’Laren, merchant, Souris, in the 86th year of his age.

On the 25th April, at Brudenell River, Mrs. M’Laren, widow of the late Deacon M‘Laren, in the 68th year cf her age.

At Cove Head Cloth Mills, on Monday the 19th inst. Marv, only daughter of Samuel Gurney Esq., aged 17 years.

At San Francisco, on the 2list of March last, Mr. Morrow, of Prince Ed- ward Island; also his child.
