Today the Macedonian cry comes to the Church as nineteen centuries ago it came to St. Paul. Education h not enough. Democracy is not the cure. Now. as Lhcn Jesus of Nazareth offers the only salvation, the only cure for a siusick world. India, China. and the islands of the sea call to the Church of today. May we, like St. Paul catch the lure of a. lost world!

Mr. MacKixlnonahealth began w iall about a yaar ago, bu; he was 1-118 type who bore everything with a smile and he made no complaint until his condition began to gum hi» family and friends. During the latter part of August he went to Portland, Me. to consult specialists and later m New York City where he underwent a surgical operation. Physicians realized that his condit- luu was beyond their help and he came home about and has since been confined m hi; homo. Although he suffered ink“- sely, he always had a smile for everyone and never gave up his brave fight for life.

Joseph MacKlnnon was born in Prince Edward Island. August 16, 1872, the son of James MacKinnon and Margaret Butler MacKinnon. ills early life was spent in his no. live town where he attended school. August l2, 1889 he came to Berlin, he was Just a young man and work- ed at various jobs until he entered the liurgess mill later purchased by UICVBTOWX) Company, he had been continually employed there until his last illness. working at the same plant for over thirty six years. Ho was a conscientious and held the position of foreman, he was liked by his employers and by the men under his supervision, he was over considerate and kind to everyone. ..

When the Burgess employees staged their minstrel show each year. Mr. MacKinnon always took l. prominent part. "Joe" as he wu familiarly known was always ready in do his bit_to help in every way and it was due in great manure to the many hours that he put. into the" work that the annual show was al- ways a sucus.
