The Britannia is scheduled to anchor off Cxrarlottetown. in the three tides, at 9.20 a.m. July 30, and to depart for Halifax via Ca- bot Strait at 11.30 a.m. the same day. ~ 3

They must not shout aboard the Britannia; they must be per- fectly dressed—regular navy uni- forms -are worn with a Royal Yacht flash on the right arm; they are discouraged from running on the decks; ratings must wear rub- ber-soled shoes to eliminate un- necessary noise.

POPULAR ASSIGNMENT
Although life on this ship is far from easy, there is a long list of volunteers waiting to get Royal Yacht -on their cap bands. Of- ficers normally serve a two-year term, with an rtunity for ex- tensions. Ratings; chosen by the officers, are eligible for perma- nent royal yacht service, with an extra shilling a day, after a one- year probation.
But because of the limited scope for promotion on siich a small ship many of the ratings re- vert to general service when they become due~for a new rank.
