I was sickened by the alleged violence done by those beefheads at Myrons. The victim was an Asthmatic. Choking an Asthmatic canbe fatal, you beefheads. They could have opened their goddamned mouths and ask him to leave but no they had to put ona show.

_ Chucking a person near the stairs is down right stu- _ pid, especially after the person is recovering from

_ choking symptoms. Can’t they see that he could fall | down the stairs and hit his head ina fatal manner? | _ say that if these guys want to mess around with

_ students, then students should not attend a place of _ gross misconduct, a place where beefhead attitudes are worse than most of the music they play. By they ' way I’d like to hammer one of those beefheads and _ hear me beefhead you would go down.

_ The names ofacouple of teams should be some what

_ distressing. In particular the Blanchard Hall Chiefs

_ and the Redmen., I am sure these names were chosen

_ in good fun and absolutely no harm was meant, but to

_ the native community in the Island and around the

_ world these names may be taken for something more than just fun,

_ When using these names it is quite possible that

| natives maybe portrayed as savages. As members ofa higher institute of learning (UPEI), we should take all _ Steps necessary to exclude prejudice.

The UPEI Intermurel Hockey League should follow

_ the precedent set by Charlottetown Rural who changed

_ theirteam names to the Raiders instead of the Redmen, Maybe the Redmen could change their name

_ to the Raiders also, or maybe the Sweathogs and the

Blanchard Hall Chiefs to the Blanchard Hall Bullies.

Although I am pleased by the student debate on femi- nist issues, lamalso concerned about the apparent lack of understanding in this field. In honour of those students who wish to expand their knowledge about women’s concerns, I am willing to participate in a public debate, information session or free fall discussion about feminism, morality and oraffirma- tive action. Anyone interested is invited to call me to arrange a mutually convenient time and place.

(1. A radical feminist who: does not believe that ‘Women’s child-bearing function and subsequent dependence on men is the root of female oppression’’ - indeed, I do not believe that women’s child bearing function necessarily results on women’s dependence on men atall!

2. And does not believe that Affirmative Action is reverse discrimination - instead, I see Affirmative Action as an attempt to rectify a long-standing, sys- temic discrimination presently in place.)
