Mrs. Howard Schurman of Central Bedeque. The usual busi- ness was transacted. The officers for the ensuing year were reelect- ed. They are: President. Mrs. Howard Schurman: Secretary. Mrs. Calvin beard and Treasurer. Mrs. James Henderson.

Meeting opened with reading of a poem by Mrs. James Henderson. Twelve mem- bers and one visitor were present. The roll call was answered by presenting a fancy apron for s bazaar; the bazaar and n pantry sale to be held at Smnllmnns' Store in the near future. Annual School Meeting Held At Alberfon

-There was In attendance of eighty-seven ratepayers at the annusl meeting of Alberto: School District last night. Rev. J. P. McMahon was appointed choir- man. Minutes of the last annual and a special meeting were read by the secretary. Mrs. Vernon England and adopted. The Board of Trustees” report Wu read by Dr. 0. H. Phillips. Mrs. Everett Shea was, re-appointed auditor. The secretary's financial state? ment was adopted.

Mrs. Shea reported that she had audited the books and found them correct.

The supervisorls report was read by Mrs. England and among other improvements recommended that the school grounds be fixed up. On motion it was approved that the grounds of both schools be pro- perly attended to at the end of the school term. Also that the outside of the old school he re- paired and painted.

Supplements for grades ii and 12 were increased from 3300 to 3400 other supplements remain- ed the same as last year. The sum of 8100 was voted as the district's share of a supplement for a music teacher. total assess- ment is 38.800.

Dr. W. A. Shea was elected trustee. The School Board is now composed of Dr. 0. H. Pitmips. J. R. Rnchtord and Dr. W. A. Shea. Retiring trustee was Albert Clarke.

On motion it was approved that the school district be r ” by government assessors.

S. Hinton. Q.C.. in County Magistrate's Court yesterday morning.

The charges arose from an in- clrlent that occurred in Kensing- ton on May 17 in which Cst. D. J. Header of the Sununerside de- tachment of the R.C.M.P. suffer- ed : broken hone in his right arm. Mr. D. 0. Stewart. Q.C.. acted for the Crown and Mr. W. Chester I, MacDonald for the de- fendsnt.

A party was fined 810 and costs for failing to stop at the scene

' -n accident in which he did slight damage to another car while passing it at Day's Corner. A man from Clermont was found guilty of possession of 17 shori lobsters and was fined S17 anr costs. while two other fisheries; cases were adjourned until Tues- day. June 14.
