Mr. Claude Kincli, of Tignish. has been the chairman of the Red Cross swimming and Water Safety Committee for several years. This year he was appointed area chair- man for West Prince County. Mrs. A C. Green. Albcrtoii. Mrs. Harri". Callaghan. Ebbsfleet and Mr. Ed- ward J. Arsenault of Tignish Shore have acted as committee chairmen in these respective localities and all have co-operated in this Red Cross program.

Honoii-red At Farewell Party

--A farewell party was t.endei'erl Mr. and Mrs. Eric Taylor in Birch Grove Hall on Monday evening. August 27th when a large number of their friends and neighbours izathered in bid them farewell on their departure from Freetown.

The hall was tastefully decorated for the occasion by members of

Birch Grove Women's Institute and presented a very attractive HDDEEITIIICP.

iiiastvr of ceremonies and alter a few brief remarlu called on Mr. Robert Jardine who read an ad- dress expressing the regret. of the people at losing such valued mem- bers of the community.

A presentation of a studio couch was made to Mr. and Mrs. Tavlor by Mr. Stavcrt. and Mr. Jardinc. as a token of goodwill and friend- ship from the neighbors.

Mrs. Robert Jarcline. represent.- ing: the Women's Institute. then read an address. expressing the loss felt hv the Institute in part- ing with Mrs. Taylor. Ind a pre- sentation of beautiful rhinestone earrings was made by Mrs. Elmer Mncnlanhern.
