_ I would like to respond :to Joseph Sanlei's article "The Abortion - Dilemma", which appeared . in the Jan. 31 gun. I

v'will attempt to show that Mr. Sanlei's article lacks objectivity and as such is not a useful addition to the abortion debate.

Mr. Sanlei begins, and writes approximately half of the article, in an ob— jective manner. He cites

Next Mr. Sanlei cites a _ study which advocates abortion on demand; but he fails to mention that there are also studies in e>cistencewhich advocate increased restrictions on abortion. Then comes the concluding paragraph, the final sentence of which Mr. Sanlei again betrays his lack of ob- jectivity: "Canadians must nay to gUarantee that the right to ‘a_ free choice (concerning abortion) becomes a reality throughout the Canadian nation".

I object to Mr. Sanlei's lack of objectivity in "The Abortion Diletrma" because objectivity ‘— at all times the prime journalistic

principle - becomes even

more important when the

- controversy being dichssed

is one with the immense magnitude of the abortion issue. An addition to the abortion debate which does not strive for total objec- tivity. is not useful.
