in Sackville on saturday afternoon, but they pro— vided lots of excitement to go along with Momt Allison's Winter Carnival. The boys trailed 2rl after , \ first period, 6-5 after

the. second, but ran into trouble in the final stanza as the Mounties clobbered them with 3 unanswered goals. Stellar netminding by the Hane’team's goalie " Bob Daly, really was the difference between the teams, for the Panthers had the better of the terri- torial play as they out— shot the opposition 41-34., Gary Trainor, Trevor Crawford and Gerald Walker had singles for us, while Rory Beck had a pair. Next ‘ day, in Monoton, we fell to a 11-13 record for the year‘s league play as we_ dropped a close one to the Blue Eagles, still retaining their #2 ’ national ranking, by a 6—5 score. In. this game _ Shane Turner and Mike Devine each had one marker, while fast skating Harold Hay put the red light on three times- Each team 'had 37 s.o.g.'s. Since writing our last column and before the above games 3 the Panthers had one really big night as they demolished Les Aigles Bleu 7-2, giving the #2 Canadian team its first defeat of 1980.

Meanvmile the UNB Red A Devils go to Saint John's this weekend, where ‘ they take on the Menorial Beothuks in two games.
