Butter Firm, Cheese Dull and Heavy —Eggs Well up.

In Montresl, according to the Star, the butter market was firm on Tuesday and holders were asking rather more than on tue previous day, one merchant declining less than 20c for his creameries. The quotation range from 19 to 20c.

The cheese marketon the same day was reported dull and steady. Quebec Oc- tobers were quoted at1l0}. The public cable was 54; 61 to 66s.

Cold storage eggs ranged from 13} to 17 cents, according to quaiity. Other quotations were: culle, 11 to 13c; No. 2 14 to 16 ¢; straight gathered, 16 to 173; No 2 jimed, 12 to 134c; No 1 limed 15 to 16}c straight candied, 17 to 1384c. selects, 20 to 23c, Jo small lote.

CHARLOTTETOWN MARKETS.

There is a good deal of produce being shipped from various parts of .the prce vince. Potatoes and oats are moving more freely than, they were last week. The stree\ price of oats is 2Sc, and for potatoes the buyers are offering 16c.

The highest price buyers are offering for cheese is 10}c, and it is said that there a-e not moretnan 1200 uneold atthe pre- sent time. Since Friday last Dillon & Spillett bought 450 boxes, for the most of which they paid a sixteenth of a cent in advance of the Breokville price.

Eggs bring 15c, with very few coming in.

At the pork ‘actory they are offering 4}c for hogs over 275, while for those rangiog from 175 10 200 4c is the figure. For hogs under 175 the price is 3c.
