A Wicxep Germ.—The bubonic plague bacillus is a wick:d germ to investigate. The other day Barisch, an assistant in & Viennese laboratory, was buried with the utmost precaution, he having shown every symptom of the plague before he died. Now Professor Nothcage, his principal, and the two nurses who attended Barisech, areall down with the dreadful disease. All the professor’s assistants have been inoculated, and the Government is taking every measure to prevent the spread of the plague.

Fire axp Rowpyism.—It is apparent, observes the Guardian, that some young meno of Augustine\Cuve, or vicinity, are paving a way for aterm in Dorchester. A few nights ago,@ baro belonging to Mra, Cameroun, a widow, was burned tothe ground, together with a horse, two pigs, three ducks, a sett of new harueas, afset of new working harnees, 700 lbs of hay, etc. The fire is believed to be the work of invendiaries. On the same night four stacke of marsh bay were upset and some acts of rowdyism committed on the pro- perty of Donald Cameron.
