CHICAGO (AP) - The National League Tuesday agreed to a "p a c k a g e deal" under which Brooklyn Dodgers and New York Giants could move to Los Angeles and San Francisco. respectively.

League president Warren Giles, who announced the action It a press conference. emphasized that It now is up to the Dodgers and Giants to arrange for a potential mm in the two west coast cities.

Giles pointed out that the DOM- ers and Giants. if they plan to play as west coast members in 1950. must clear the way with the Pl- cific Coast League-of which Lou Angcles and San Francisco are members e between next Oct. 1 and Oct. 31. Minor league territor- ies can be drafted by a major league team only between those dates. '

TWO-TEAM MOVE

Giles stressed that the league action is predicated on s two-team move to the west coast and that if one of the two New York area teams decides to move elsewhere. another league meeting would be rquired to sanction such a change.

Giles said that during the course of the meeting he asked Gabe Paul. Cincinnati general manager, whether the Redlegs wanted to move to New York in the change which would send the Dodgers an Giants elsewhere.

Giles said Paul replied: "We're not asking permission for any- thing."

Giles said that after Tuesday's action. it's up to the Dodgers and Giant: to "tell me 'we want to re- locate our franchise!"

"I will then give them my okay and then they must find a place to play."

With the Stewart. the King's County Base- ball Leagu will probably have a live team league this year. Morell Poakes. Georgetown, and Souris are the other entries. St. Peters decided that they could not enter a team this season.

However. in regards to this

league. Souris. is as yet. not pos- itive starters. But, whether or not they enter the league. Souris will have a baseball team. If they do not enter the league. they will register a trim for Island play- offs. . Henry Hartinger. elected as coach of the baseball team. may, because of business diffic- ulties, resign as coach. Henry. noted mostly for his prowess as a pitcher in the City Softball League. is now a resident of Souris.

At the next meeting of the Ball Club. more plans in regard to the Town Softball League will be drawn up. 'I'' -. should be a good, league.
