SEXIST CHICKEN Dear Editor,

In reference to last week’s letter to the edi- tor by both Mr Paul Peacock and Miss Chanda K. Steven- son.I think that those sup- porting the article of Mary Brown's Fried Chicken as be- ing a sexist article have the wrong concept. of sexism.It is evident tha there is no sex- ism involved in that adver- tisement.

I should remind you hat it is advertisement that helps pay for the publishing of this STUDENT NEWSPA- PER every week(and that allows YOU to voice your opinion). One has to really start reading through lines to see that this article was sexually inclined towards the

woman anatomy. Why do you anti-sexists (or actually think you are) have to seruti- nize everything to see if there could be a sexist “slur”.O.K. I agree if the article really involved sexism (whether it be towards women or men) then it should be withdrawn. But this isn’t the case, it is but a simple advertising slog- gan. I think the problem mainly resides in those con- servative types. who when they hear sexism or feminism draw their own of what those words really

SMOKE DETECTORS NEEDED Mr. Editor:

tectors. I have noticed that none exist in Dalton Hall. If this situation exists in

any other campus facility it should be rectified.
