for the organization of one or more new Divisions in the next. few months. It is hoped this campaign will be productive of much good. and all loyal Temperance workers are culled on to get behind the Divisions in the work they are doing.

A very enthusiastic public meeting was held in the evening despite the somewhat heavy roads and stormy evening. Springfield Division had a splendid program, which was listen- ed to with great. interest and con- sisted of solos. choruses. readings, etc. The address of the evening by the G. W. P. Rev. A. A. Mscbeod. was worth going a long distance lo hear; also the address by Rev. Rsll. Stavurt contained many valuable suggestions.

The following resolution was read by Rev. R. H. Stuvert, on behalf of Committee on Resolutions:

I.~"Reso1ved, that. the people of Springfield be tendered our hearty vote of thanks for so ably entertain- ing the delegates; .

lL-“That we place on record our appreciation of the good work being done by the Temperance Alliance Bulletin. and also that we recom- mend that the lrsolution posed this afternoon to ask the Temperance Bulletin for the use of one of Its columns for the purpose of bringing the work of the Sons of Temperance before the public. be adopted;

IIIflThat in view of the fact that the coming promised plebiscite is only about. eighteen months away. we urge upon all of our Temperance people throughout the Island the need of being actively engaged from now on in making public sentiment so strong that never again would the advocates of Government Control attempt to Introduce such a law;

IV.—-"'l‘hat we call upon our Gov- ernment and ask them that, at the earllestyposslble date they secure for the public schools of our province a qood book setting forth the evils of Intemperance, a book of Ya much bet- ter type than is at present In use.

V.—-“'I‘hat we call upon all of our clergymen, our public school teach- ers, to become leaders in carrying on a campaign of education among the people, especially among the young people of our province through the pulpits, Sunday schools, Bands of Hope, to the end that the taking of the Prohibition Law off our Stat- ute Books in the near future will be Ia thing Impossible."
