Acting Premier Andrew Mac- Rae reported yesterday that Premier Walter R. Shaw was making favourable progress from his recent illness and that if the resent trend continues the premier hopes to resume active duty in October.

However. Mr. MacRae stated the premier was still under strict medical supervision and re- quired a great deal of rest and relaxation. Social calls by his family and close personal friends were allowed but the premier’s physicians have advised against business visits from the general public.

In Premier Shaw's absence, Mr. MacRae is carrying on the duties of premier and the public is requested to consult him or other members of the govern- ment rather than worry the premier during his convalesence.
