Petty Officer Derald F.Mac- Kenzie was recently promoted to the rank of Acting Commissioned Officer (Medical Technician). in the RCN Reserve. Mr. MacKenzie who is a registered Pharmacist. completed his apprenticeship with Johnson and Johnson's. and after successfully passing the examina- tions recelved his diploma in June 1952. He has since been employed with the Jenkin's Pbarrnacy. Char- lottetown. Mr. Macxenzie first Joined the local Naval Reserve in February. 1948. and has completed several medical courses with the Navy at the RCN Hospital. Hali- fax Those qualifications combined with the iimeispcnt at his trade in civilian life. have eventually brought him up to the required standard for promotion to commis- slon rank.

Mr. MacKenzie resides at 14 Pownai St.. City, and is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd MacKenzle. A brother Elmer A. is at present completing his internship at the Victoria General Hospital. Halif- fax. from where he will graduate in May. 1950.
