Having perused thisrweek's edition of the Campus paper, I discover that under the' letters to the editor, one letter which I presume to have been written by a memb- er of our "educated" student body. It concerned the po- sting of "Love Jesus" post— ers on the bulletin boards around campus.

It was to my great disa- ppointment that I discover— ed that, for all the writ— er's reference to science, the only educated things about the letter was (per— haps) his ability to use ‘ large words in their app— ropriate context.

The writer's reference to science and reason as an argument against these post— ers and religion in general is hardly a valid one. It -, is a proven fact that the‘

‘ greater the scientific and 'technological advancements ~of a society, the greater its turnover to religion.

ndidates among them} Its so. bad that I intend to vote for Mary Vessey, Mike O'Brien and GeraldLMcKenna not beca— use I think they're good but because I don't know them. Possibly.they'll/beubetter than the'ones I do know. I hope so. N

Most disappointing/about these candidates, though, is that they appear to be runn— ing for offide not because they want to help students or to become involved not for the money but rather they are running because of the power.‘ ‘ ‘

Most are power-tripping, probably only Howie Adams,

in the fact that the theiste ic viewpoint is itself a re— ligion. He also cites the placing of the "Love Jesus" posters as "self centered acts of irrationality," unf— ortunately his own letter. falls into this very categ— ory. '

It appeared-clear through his narrow minded and viol—\ ent attitude that his real reason for writing the lett— er was not his honest feel- ings upon the subject, but a futile attempt to gain atte— ntion. J

An example of this trip— ping is the consistentgans~ we; we got from Candidates to questions during their interviews with the paper (see pages 6&7)— "Well, I don't wish to answer that question at this time.... that will be revealed during my speech on Monday night.“ my opponents might pick up on that and I'd have no Sp— eech."

My opponent might pick up on that and I'd have no Sp- eech...Good Lord!! Is the pfifpose of running to get elected or to do somthing for students?Maybe I shou- ldn't have asked.

We would like_to direct this letter to P.P. who wro— te regarding the Jesus Love posters. _

Although our friend cla- ims to be an atheist, it se- ems that he or she knows ve— ry little about "true" Chri- stianity. For those who ha- ve put their trust in Jesus, it no longer remains a "bli— nd faith" but becomes very real and meaningful to them. It is all the more important to put our faith in Jesus, in an age when science is
