told a. Textile union delegation that the government is not planning any new action on behalf of Can- ada's slipping textile industry.

He told the delegation. he said, that the industry became over- expanded during and after the war and now is in the process of a shakedown that he described as "an evolution or II revolution.”

Dr. McCanll. whose own Reiifrew South constituency has been hit by closing of textile plants. said he specifically rejected four pro- posals advanced in 1 Monday con- ferencc here by the Textile Work- ers' Union of America (CIO-CCL).
