Measure and sift together twice, the fllowr. baking powder and salt; mix in the raisins.

Cream the shortening and gradu- ally blend in the granulated and brown sugars; cream well. Add the well-beaten egg. a little at a time. beating ‘well after each addition. Stir in rolled oats. wheat germ and Orﬂmge rind: combine thoroughly.

Combine the oratrge juice. water and vanilla.

Add dry ingredient; to creamed mixtute alternately with the llqutd. out. bining well after each addition.
