Princess Elizabeth and tho Duke of Edinburgh are enthusiastic about itwo approaching events on their calendar-a state visit to Edinburgh March 1 and a tour of the Chan- nel Islands in June. Youth organ- izations will play a prominent part in public functions arranged for the Edinburgh visit. A guard of honor of sea cadets, army cadets and members of the auxiliary training corps will salute the Royal couple when they attend the free- dom ceremony at Usher Hall, and groups surrounding the guard will include members of five othe" youth organizations. Elizabeth and Philip will drive through all the principal streets of the citv and later will inspect Edinburgh's new hoislng area, where rapid progress has oeen made in recent months. The same evening an all-Scottish concert will be presented in Usher Hall. In the organ gallery behind the stage boys in dark clothing and girls in white will provide a spectacular background by forming the letters on}... I O O Youth leaders will be presented ‘to the Royal couole at a reception and dance March 2, and the Prin- cess will go to Edinburgh Univer- sity to receive an honorary doctor- ate. The King hopes to revive soon plans for a Royal tour of Australia and New Zesland, dropped when he became ill last November. Com- menting on reports that the trip may be made in 1950, a Bucking- ham Palace spokesman said today: "It should be remembered that the Ptour was only postponed. It was never cancelled." Evidence that lthe King himself determined to make the visit was given in a tele- gram he sent Monday to a dinner of the New Zealand Society. "I {very much appreciate the good wishes for my health," it said, “and itrust that in the not too distant ‘future I may be able to carry out my proposed visit to New Zealand." No mention has been made about doctors visits to Ssndringham. Doc- itors are still wary of predicting a date for the King's return to nor- mal public duties. B., when Mar- garet Arleighn elder daughter oi Mr. and Mrs. Charles Howard Coles, Wey-mouth Street, Charlottetown. became the bride of James Robert McKenzie Cook, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Cook. Alma Street, Moncton. The Rev. James Alexander performed the ceremony.

The bride wore an afternoon gown of cameo blue crepe, fash- ioned on classic lines. Her onlv ornament was an heirloom cameo brooch, belonging to her great grandmother.

The couple were unattended.

Iirmrnedlately following the cere- mony Lieut. and Mrs. Cook left by car for a short honeymoon.

For travelling the bride wore a light beige furl trimmed coat with French model brown and beige feather hat, brown accessories and corsage of roses.

The bride is an employee of the office staff .of Trans-Canada Air Lines. Lieut. Cook. R. C. N. (R) is a science student at Mount Allison University and following the closing exercises in May, leaves for the West Coast where he will resume his duties with the Royal Canad- ian Navy.
