MRS. JOHN RODNEY. The death occurred at Southport, on January 18th, 1929, of Mrs. John Rooney, one of the oldest und mos: highly respected ‘ residents of that place. The late Mrs. Rooney who was in her 87th year, enjoyed good health until a few days previous to her death. All that medical skill and kind nurs- lng could do was of no avail. Forti- fied by the last rites of the Roman Catholic Church her spirit pass-ed peacefully away. She leaves to mourn a sorrowing husband. Th9 funeral which was largely at- tended took place on Sunday ulter- noon from M. Hennesseys Undertak- ing Parlors to Fort Augustus Cemet- ery. Tho pail bearers were: Capt. James Roach. Geo. MacDonald, Lorne Kelly, Pcrley Mutch. James Tralnor and Joseph Kelly.
