Strange Fun for Young Men.

Young msn in Nashville, Tenn , used to have a strange idea of fun, About twenty years ago, during a cold spell, they organ- ized a society with fun as its avowed object. The fun consisted in raising money and distributing it among the poor people of the city and county. In the course of one winter they raised and gave away $17,000. The young men who were engaged in this frolic are now gray headed, but they maintain that they never in their lives enjoyed themselves as much as they did during that memorable winter. Mr. Charles Dockendorff spends his evenings in training his Hernando colt, a horse that will yet give a good account of himself. He is pronounced by competent judges to be far superior to the one sold by Mr. Dockendorff last summer.

We regret to hear that Mr. B. Docken- dorfi’s Hernando colt met with an accident lately that will be likely to leave a perma- nent blemish. Thisis the more to be re- gretied as Mr Dockendorff was about sell- ing him for the handsome sum of $125.

On visiting the stables of Messrs. Bain, F. White, Alex. McKinlay, H. McEwen and others, I find a number of superior fat cattle preparing for Easter show.
