A Nova Scotia Tragedy.

& DEFENSELESS WOMAN MURDERED AND THEN CREMATED.

A tragedy of a particularly shocking nature was enacted in Annapolis Co., N.S., on Wednesday morning last. The victim was a girl supposed to bélong to Windsor, who left licr home a few days previously, ostensibly te visit Annapolis. Here she fell in with a man, named John Hill, of Bridgetown, who it is said seduced her and who is supposed to haye committed the deed, aided bya Frenchman named The- beau. The body of the woman was dis- eovered by a man named Armstrong who, in company with his two brothers, were taking in hay at Lake View. On going tg work the Messrs. Armstrong met Thebeau, and when they had been at work a short time they perceived a fire in a bush a short distance from their hay field. One of the young men went to put it out, and en ap- proachiny it he was terrified to observe the elbow o! a human protruding from a pile of smouldering brush ashes. He was scared at first, but mustering up his cour- age, he walked around the fire and was still furtier horrified on observing a pair of feet sticking out iu a ghastly manner from among the hot ashes.
