ALLAN BERTRAM MISENER

A great shook came to the family of Allan B. Misener when his plrents received the sad news of his accidental death due to drowning on August 2nd, 1958, in the AIssiniIboinIe River near Brandon, Upon lind— ing the body, Dr. J. Johnson. ap- plied artificial respiration, but life was found to be extinct.

Allan had entered the Deer Lodge Hospital in Winnipeg for treatment on July 2nd, and was discharged July 24. Then he went to Brandon to work.

Hewasthefifthofafamily of eleven children, born in Stan- hope on February 28, 1923. Dur- ing his early life he was an active hockey and baseball play- er, well liked by his many friends. On April 10th, 1942, he joined the ‘army at the age of nineteen. The theatres of ser- vice in which he served were: Canada, United Kingdom, Cen- tral Mediterranean area, and Continental Europe, and was honourany discharged on March 18011, 1946 in Halifax, Nova Scoliafnomhlsrankasatroop- er. HIis medals and decorations during the war included his 1939- 45 Star, Italy Star, Canadian Volunteer Service Medal and Clasp and War Medal 1939—45.

He leaves to mourn besides his grief stricken parents, five brothers, John, White Horse, Yukon; Thomas and Elmer, Tor- onto, Ontario; Learoy and 1‘1inus

at home; also five sisters, Etta,

(Mrs. Don Acker), Delka, Ont; Anna (Mrs. David Clarlke) and Edith, Trenton, Ont; Jean, (Mrs. Sheldon Gumn), West St. Peters, P.E.I. and Laura, Charlottetown, P.E.I.

Ills funeral service was held at the Brockie Donovan Chapel on Ffiday, August 8th., at 3:30 pm. Rev. D. E. Noonan of St. Georges Anglican Church offi- ciating at the chapel and com- mital services, also Legion in- terment services were conduct- ed by W. Jackson.
