It is alleged that Lenehan during a fit of infanity or jealousy first struck his wife with the poi of the axeoathe head and twice with the blade, once above the ear and once on the throat. The prisoner is alleged to have then seized aknife, but was disarmed by his twosons, who were attracted by their mo‘her’s cries. It is believed that Lenehen intended murdering his wife. He attacked her from bebicd. The blows dealt the woman knocked her down and one blew almost severed her wind pipe. Blood spattered the grouad around. Mrs. Lenehen is in a critical condition.
