Axorner Exarnition.-~ The Nova Scotia exhibition commission has decided to hold an exhibition next year, opening September 24th. Six thousand dollars was vored for special attractions. The deficit on this year’s exhibition will reach twenty thousand dollars, ten thousand on current account and ten thousand over the expen- diture on capital account.
C. M. B, A.—The fourth anniversary of the establishment of Branch 216,3C. M. B. A., Summerside, was celebrated with a grand concert in the Branch Hall on Wed- nesday evening last. According to the Agriculturist every number on the pro- gramme pleased the audience immensely. The Misses Murphy and Mr. William Murphy, of Charlottetown, took a leading part in the eotertainment.
Coi.> Breryep.—An accident which terminated fatally occurred at Avnapolis. N.S., a few days ago, the victim being the two-year old child of Mr. James Gallagher. It seems while the mother was out of the house on an errand the little one got bold of matches, which beeoming lighied, eset fire tothe child’s clothing, burning the hody and face terribly. The child lingered in agony till noon next day wher death ended her sufferings.

A cure for the Kloodyke gold fever has been diecovered by an American who re- cently returned from Alaska. “Pick out & morning next winter,” he says, “when the mercury is below zero, shoulder a pick, aud go into the woods before break- | fast; dig ahole sixteen feet deep; come back to the house at night and eat @ small piece of stewed buffalo robe, and sleep in the woodshed. Repeat the dose as often as necessary.
Norway and Swede seem to have a atrong hold on the British wood pulp aud paper market. Norway last year took £894,- 264 and Sweeden £591,497 for wood pulp supplies to that country; and the year’s imports into Great Britain of paper from Norway reached £348,198, and from Sweden £392.310. These amounts give a total of £2.226,200 sterling. The total wood pulp and paper trade of the United States for seven months of the past year was about one-fifth of that amount.
