Tuav One Marrer.—“There is only one matter which at the present seems, in some quarters, to endanger Mr. Gallant’s chances of complete success and that, we are assured, will be straightened out by the government at the earliest opportunity,” says the Pioneer, referring to the cam paign in the Third District of Prince. With such a damaging admission on the part of the Pioneer, people will readily un- derstand how hopeless are Mr. Gallant’s chances of success. What that “one matter” is, people are left to draw their own inference. We presume, however, that it relates to Mr. Gallant’s position on certain ternperance matters in which — the people of the County generally are much interested. If this is so, we do not see how the Pioneer, as a temperance paper, can refrain from supporting Mr. Arsenault in the present contest, as he is a consistent temperance mau, and his temperance pria- ciples are well known to the electors of the Third District. We await our con- temporary’s explanation of the “one matter” which “endangers Mr. Gallant’s chance of complete success.”—Journal,
