Mr. Mclwen was born at Mt. Stewart. son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Mdlwen. He attend- ed aitlool at Mt. Stewart and Prince of Wales College, Char- lottetown. In his early years he was a telegraph operator and later taught school for thirty years. He was a graduate of the Veterinary science Association and practiced veterinary work for a number of years.
