Modern Dancing

If you don’t like contact sports but would like to get in shape and feel good, we have found just what you need. In downtown Charlottetown a new dance studio has opened, offering modern ballet, jazz, dance fitness and creative movement, classes are offered for chil- dren to adult.

The person heading this new dance studio is Charlottetown native Don Burnett. Upon interviewing Don irealized his experience in dance is most impres- sive. He has been working in the theatre business for over 20 years. He has danced all over Canada, in New York City, and in London England at the London Dance Centre. For the past 11 years Don has been Artisic Director of the Montage Dance Theatre in Charlottetown. The Montage is best known for the variety and quality of it’s dance productions.

The new facility for dance is called Off Centre Thea- tre for Dance and is located at 85 Water St. Anyone interested should call 368-4417 for further informa- tion. If there is enough interest for a Jazz dance class on campus, Mr. Burnett would be happy to look into finding a space to hold aclass for students. Dancing Event

A dance sponsored by 720 C.H.T.N. Radio will be held at the Charlottetown Trade Centre (Ch’ town Civic Centre), on Friday, October 4, 1991 from 9:00 P.M. - 1:00 A.M.

Proceeds from the dance will go to the Voluntary Resource Council. The Voluntary Resource Council works to promote volunteerism on Prince Edward Island and supports over 70 member volunteer organi- zations.

The dance will feature music by Phase II and Country Express. A cash bar and snacks will be available. There will be a 50/50 draw taking place later in the evening. Those 19 years of age and older are more than welcomed to attend.

Special guest appearance by Mitch Cormier of the 720 C.H.T.N., ‘‘Get-Up-&-Go-Gang’”’ will be the M.C. forthe evening.
