The pansies were particularly fine, varieties exhibited by Miss DesBrisay being large, delicately tinged, and very handseme. Toe dshlias exhibited by Mre. THE CLOTH EXHIBIT. The c'oth exhibited by Messrs. Reid Bros., of Tryon, by the Charlottetown
Woolen Factory Co., and by the Milis Val- ley Mills Co., reflecied credit upon the ex- hibitors and upon the Province. Messrs Reid Bros. exinbited seventy-five different potceros, the Charlottetown Factory about a uandred, and the Mill Valley Mills, forty
five. The tweeds were quite good enough to be preferred before any cloths which could possibly be imported and sold at the same prices, and they might, we think, be expr rted *o the neighboring Provinces to compete with anything of the kind mann- factured there. Some of the pieces shown by Messrs. Reid Bros. were mate of wool imported from New Zealand ; and its supe- riority in poem’ of fineness and finish was quite evident The questicn arises, *‘ Why con't we preduce fine wool as well as Aus- tralia and New Zealand?’ Is there any- thing in our fodder or climate which prevents us from doing so? We trow not. In the production of fine-wooled sheep there is yet, in this Island, large room for improvement

Another new thing im this year’s exhibi- tion was Mesers. Dorsey & Goti’s show of boots and shoes, made at the Charlottetown Boot and Shoe Factery There were many samples—all excelient. The exhibit must have breught forcibly to the minds of dealers the fact that itis now not necessary to go abroad for factory made boots and shoes; for they are wade right here of better quality and at cheaper rates.

The weather was a little against our canines; and the show was not so good as might be expected. Fox Terriers were very good, anil deserve mention. Scotch Collies show you have some here who ap- preciate a finedog. Pngs, Dandy Dinmon', Setter and Mastiff, are more than the aver- age, aud it was with pleasure 1 met the many fanciers, and trust on the next Bench

PARLOR ORGANS.
Some first rate sp-cimens of these porn- lar instraments were op exhibition, Mr. Fletcher, Mr. Ferguson, and Miller Bros. being the exhibitors. The ‘ Excelsior” organ, of which Mr. Ferguson is the agent, was a very good one, having purity cf tone, and steady action. The other organs were first-class, and exhibited some very pretty casings. We confess to a weakness for having ail the expense put into the reeds. A beautiful case is a beautiful object, but the thing seems to be a little overdone; in | fact. is sometimes thcnught more of than the |

On Thursday and Friday the Educational Association held its meeting for this year iu he Hall of the West Kent Street School. One hundred and twenty-five members were present. Miss MeLeod, Mr. McLellan, Miss Belle Me- Donid, Miss Ackerman, and Miss Harris each sang a song, and Mr. Cutler, Mr. Matheson, Miss Ellen Lawson, Miss Barr, and Mr, T. LePage. each read or recited Mr. Cutler is decidedly the best elocution- ist we have had amongst us since Easty. Henry Lawson, Esq., delivered a short address, @Ombatting the idea that edueation is being too widely diffused for the good of the people. Before parting, the Association sang Auld Lang Syne and God save the Queen.
