ANOTHER RopBery.—Some person = stolen money belonging to St. Vincent de Paul Sosiety, to the amount of about $40. The theft was committed some time be- tween Sunday and Sunday week, but it was not uutil yesterday that the money was missed. The funds and papers of the So- ciety were kept in a small box storel in| the veatry of St. Dunstan's Cathedral. Yesterday, when the Society met, the dis- covery was made that the box referred to had been broken open, and that all the money left therein on the previous Sun- day was stolen. The papers and box were not taken, but the luck of the box was car- ried off. There is some little clue to the thief, and it is hoped he will be found out aud punished. |

Horribie Murder. La Cuevrorter, Qae., Feb. 23.
There is terrible excitement here over the murder of four persons at St. Allean, a small village a few miles from here. A Rodolphe Dubois murdered his mother-in-law, Mrs. Olemphe Thebault, his wife, aged 34, and his two chil lren, one age d four years and the other fone months. The deed was committed with an axe about 11 o'clock this morning up to 10 p. m., the whereabouts of the murderer are unknown. The victims were verribly distigured.

Great Damage by Floods. Prescott, Ari., Feb. 22. The storage dam built across the Hassam- oya River by the Walnut Grove Water Storage Company two years ago at a cost of $300,000, gave way Saturday morning under

Preeviiar Cavse oF Daatu.—A few days ago, a young and valuable horse belonging to Drs. Smith and Bridges got a slight scratch on the inside of the foot where he had scraped it with his shoe, in all about as big as a mans thumb nail. On the following day he showed signs of lameness and some swelling of the limb. This continued for several days, going higher and higher, when at last it resulted in | his death in spite of all that surgical aid
