The nimble fingers oi 73-year-old Adam Robinson who, since his re- tirement in 1913 from the old North West Mounted Police has had noth- ing to do but "putter around," were responsible ior the transformation.

Robinson makes lamps out oi’ al- most anything, cld-fashioned riﬂes, rvolvers, Great Wir helmets, even horsesﬁs hoois. When he isn't work- ing on lamps, he makes picture irames out of horse shoes. Robinson came to Canada from northern Ireland in 1882, joining up with the N. W. M. P. To relieve his boredom aiter retirement, he turned to lamp- making. He secured the leg irons used to manacle Riel. Using the irons as a base, he mounted an old Police revolver to the barrel oi which he attached a socket and electric light cord for the connec- tion.
