Anxiaty furrow- ed her brow and she nervously moistened her lips as she took from her smart handbag a little booklet. As she seemed to be com- paring notes, I knew there must be some connection E t the two. so, being only human. I leaned closer and glanced over her shoulder. I had time only to recog- nize one shocking word before the door opened and she was ushered into the doctor's office, but that one word was enough to make me sit on the edge of my chair until she emerged presently and walked past the waiting-room on her way out.
What a transformation! Why. the young woman was positively radiant. Feeling as though I had been holding my breath for a long long time, I accepted the doctor's invitation to enter the inner sanc- tum. ,

Then he went on to say that she had acquired one of those little booklets put out by the Canadian Cancer Society and had become convinced that she was the victim of it malignant condition.
"What a shame!" I exclaimed iiidignantly ”Tl'iero ought to be a law against distributing that kind of literature and scaring people half to death."
"On the contrary." insisted the doctor, "there ought. to be a law forclniz all people to read such lit- rrature and no immediately to their nhysician if they have. Or even think thev have. any of the symntoms listed."
