MONTREAL, Nov. 25.—Rivalry of two Montreal teams which has blaz- ed through nearly a decade of Na- tional Hockey League seasons brought a crowd of 11,000 fans to the llorum here Saturday night to watch the Mamons hand. Canadians a. 3-1 beating. The outcome did not change the standing of either team in the Canadian Section of the league

and the Canadiens bringing up the rear with four defeats in the fbur scheduled games they have played. As in all games between these two teams, players and fans alike were caught up in an atmosphere as tense as any Stanley Cup final. The Ma- roons hustled from the start and had two goals tucked away by the end of the first period. The hectic second period was scoreless, and Maioons scored again in the third before Canadians got their single goal in the final three minutes of play.

Tali, slim Earl Robinson, the sharpshooter of Maroons to date. added another goal to his string in the last seven minutes of the first period, flipping the puck cleanly into the cords on a. pass from Dave Trot- tler from close in on Cude. In the final minute Rum Bllnco lunged around a loose Canadiens defence and fired a. hot one past Cude for another Maroon goal, unassisted.

In the third period Canadians were pushing strongly for a goal with five men up the ice when Jimmy Ward broke away. fhe Maroon speedster flashed up the ice hotly pursued, coasted in on Cude rmd drew the smart little Welshman from the cage before he slammed the puck in.
