2) LET IT BE: This whole song is full of political over- tones and critical of Britain’s tourism policy.

3) MAGICAL MYSTERY TOUR: Line 8 played back- wards slowly at first then very fast tells the story of Ringo’s deep desire to meet his hero John Wayne. The line where John Lennon sings “... make your reservation ...” is about the plight of American Indians. The whole “tour” itself is about a big drug induced trip.

4) COME TOGETHER: The title is actually a secret code telling the exact location of the Soviet’s latest missile manufacturing headquarters. Line 11 played backwards, then forwards really fast, then backwards on electro- magnetic speakers kind of sounds like “... east 33.65 degrees southwest mark 18.79 degrees, sir ...”.

5) LUCY IN THE SKY WITH DIAMONDS: Lucy,. Sky, Diamonds. L.S.D. Very clear what it’s all about, eh? That’s right Liverpool Sanitation Department. This song is about an arguement Ringo and Paul had about the days the garbage is picked up. Ringo said the garbage was picked up on Mondays and Wednesdays. Paul said they pick up on Mondays and Thursdays. The garbage was actually picked up on Tuesdays and Saturdays.

8) LOVELY RITA: The title of this song sounds kind of like “Oona Derf Nort" which in ancient Icelandic legend was the goddess of drunken orgies.

about Robert X. in the Reader’s Digest. 10) YELLOW SUBMARINE

This sond, originally titled “GREEN CAR”, is about Ringofs dog Poochie, who was squashed beneath the wheels of a green car, hence the original name. Lines 5, 6 and 10 describe the tragic death of Poochie when with a sonic depth—finder (that is where the submarine comes in).

11) GET BACK The Charac- ter Jojo in this song stands for Neil Armstrong, and the character Loretta Martin is supposed to be Raquel Welch. Line 21 played back— wards very, very, VERY fast sounds weird, and line 25 played backwards at any speed just doesn’t make any sense.
