Marky Ramone and the Intruders “The Answer To Your Problems?” Zoe Records

Although the Ramones called it quits in 1996, drummer Marky wasn’t about to call it a career. This, his second cd as bandleader, sees a fusion of south Californian punk with that of the Ramones style, resulting in a decent cd.(C)

A great track is “Don’t Blame Me,”a tribute to Phil Spector’s legendary “Wall of Sound” approach to music — the song is a duet featuring Joan Jett and Marky — who makes his debut on vocals with this track. The other 13 tracks, which feature Ben Trokan on vocals, are more punkish and have a definite SoCal punk feel to them. Notable tunes are “One Way Ride” and their cover of the Beatles’ “Nowhere Man,” which is featured here in double speed. O’Connor
