On Saturday night i in Denver, Colorado Avalanche goaltender Patrick Roy passed —

Jacques Plante for second

position on the all-time . wins list. Roy picked up win number 435 of his career with a 4-1 victory over the lowly Tampa Bay Lightning and gave Colorado its 30th win of the season.

Roy, 34, is now just - 13 wins shy of the all-time wins record held by Terry — Sawchuk with 447. T. record is possible but the Avalanche would haveto — win 13 oftheirremaining 15 games in order for itto

Colorado hada ten game win streak but they haven’ been winning consistently since the All-Star Game in — February. '

The record doesn’t seem to be distracting Roy atall. He is concentrated on getting the Avalanche a better seeding in the playoffs than the record. The Avalanche sit in seventh place in the Western Conference which would pit them against the Dallas Stars if the playoffs were to begintoday. —

Listed below are the new responsibilities and duties of the Student Union Executive. President

The President shall:

A. Be the chief executive and official spokesperson of the Union;

B. Call meetings of the Executive Committee;

C. Draft and propose a schedule of council meeting dates and general meting dates at the first council meeting each semester;

D. be a member of Senate;

E. act as a liaison between the Union and groups outside the University; F. perform such research activities as may be assigned or required by the Union on behalf of Students,

G. perform other duties as required.

Vice President Communications

The VP Communications shall:

A. assume the duties and responsibilities of the President in the President’s absence or incapacity;

B. be responsible for the student newspaper and yearbook;

C. maintain communication between the Student Union and on campus organizations;

D. assist student with any academic appeals or any academic related issues;

E. be a member of Senate;

F. perform other duties as required.

Vice President Finance The VP Finance shall:

A. ensure the financial records of the Union are properly kept; B. be responsible for keeping the Executive Committee informed of all issues which pertain to the finances of the union; C. present such financial reports as the council shall require; D. assist the President in ensuring that adequate communication is main- tained between the University Administration and the Union; E. be a member of the Board of Governors; F. perform other duties as required. Vice President Activities The VP Activities shall: A. meet with the presidents of all clubs and societies on campus on a monthly basis in order to: 1) act as a contact for all clubs and societies on campus, 2) help recruit new members on behalf of each society or club, and 3) organize events of all clubs and societies in conjunction with the events of the Student Union B. act as the chair of the Social Committee, advising the Operations Manager; C. be responsible for the National Affiliation Committee; D. serve as a direct liaison between the Union and the department of Student Services; E. perform other duties as required
