The December meeting of North Milton W. I. met on Friday evening December 5th at the home of Mrs. Alton Rodd with 16 members and one visitor present. Meeting was called to order by the president. and opened by singing Institute Ode and repeating Creed in unison Minutes of Nov. meeting were

» Sick Committee reported 1 card i sent and a gift to a sick member. 'Biil was ordered paid. School Committee no report. Remaining dresses were handed in for Red 'Cross. also a number of quilt

squares. it was derided to leave quilting until after Christmas. It; was moved and seconded to

buy a song book for the school. Correspondence included a letter of thanks and one from T. B. league. It was moved and seconded to buy e Bond.

There was some discussion about a new hell, and a committee of Mrs. Alton Rodd, Mrs. Eric Coles, Miss Phyllis Hooper, Mrs. Loren Thompson and Mrs. Ernest. Crabbe were appointed to wait on the Orangemen to obtain dcfenite information.

Little Marion Rodd ihcn draw the ticket for the Nursery Mat. won by Mrs. Preston Rodd of Harrington. Proceeds from mat $12.10. SevcreJ aprons were auction. ed realizing $3.50. Collection $1.10. One member paid her foe for com- ing year.

The funeral o1 Rev. Charles P. Trainor, S, S. a member of the faculty of 5t. Edward's Seminary. Kemnoze, Wash" who died Tuegday night. at the home of his brother. Louis H. Trainor, in Tulsa. Okla, was hold this morning from the Sacred Heart Church at 10. with a pontifical base of requiem cele- brated by Most Rev. Coadiutor Blshor James L. Connolly. Most Rev. Bshop James E, Cassidy pre- sided at the mass and officiated at final absolution.

The church was filled with rela- tives and friends of the late priest. More than 100 priests from the diocese, also from institutions at Baltimore and Kenmore where Father Trainor had served. were in attendance. Delegations from the sisters of the Holy Union of the Sacred Hearts, sisters of Mercy Franciscan Sisters and Sisters of Si. Jean d‘Arc rwere present.

Delegations were also present from the Fail River Council, Knights of Columbus. and the Lin~ coin, Williams s. Connell and Brown Schools of the public school system. There was also a delegation from the Catholic Women's Club.

The eulogist was Rev. John C. Selner, SS. o; St. Mary's Seminary, Baltimore a close friend of Father Trainer, who spoke of his attributes in his chosen vocation of pre- paring young men for the priest- hood.

In his eulogy. Flather seiner spoke of the love in which Father Trainor was held by his Sulpiclan breth- rcn and his relatives and friends It. was well known to them that the sudden call which came to him was in no great measure a surprise. he said.

Father Selner said that following a short visit with Father Trainor in Seattle last Summer he came away with a deep and lastihg im- pression o! his emphatic prophecy: "I em convinced you will never see me again on this earth."

“It would be hard to calculate the number of priestly souls he helped to form in the 25 3'98“ he spent with us" said Father Selner. "There are priests here who are here because they are Sraieful f0!‘ his devoted care of them. There are many others over the land whose hearts were saddened by the news of his death, and whose arms are extended at many an altar begging for him the blessing o! eternal peace."

The eulogist recounted Father ‘Pralnot-‘s life in the Sulpician Or- der. and his deep devotion to the classroom. I-ie spoke of his remark- able energy and the fcrvid spirit w.th which he accomplished all things.

“You bury today, my brethren. the remains of a. man who loved mercy and worshipped Christ most intensely when he heard of Him forgiving who loved to raise his own hand in absolution over those who sought God's pardon. Whose estimation of himself was too one- sidod to calculate his own virtues. whose love for the suffering souls in Purgatory. for the-dying and the. dead could only be a guarantee for him to abundant mercy Ht "10 hour of his own death." said Father Selnor.
