Evancenistic Services—-The evange- listic services under the auspices of the Y.M.C. A. of this city, opened most successfully yesterday at 3.45 by a pubic meeting in Zion Church. The audience room was packed to its utmost capacity, chairs being placed in the aisles to accom- modate the congregat‘on. A very spirited song service under the leadership of Mr. | Greenwood, of Boston, was followed by prayer by the Rev. G. M. Campbel!. Mr. Greenwocd sang very affectively & solo, “All of Christ and None of Self,” after which Mr. Gale spoke for about

prayer, for quiet work, for God. He stated that his services hadin view first the lifting of the church wembers to a higher plane, and then the salvation of the uncon- verted. The address was full of the quiet influence of the Holy Spirit, aod was well spoken of at the close. Mr. Gale laid down a fewru'es which he said it was his purpose to follow out. First, the time would be strictly adhered to, to the minute; second'y the doors would be closed during the prayer, the solo, and the address, hence persons coming late would not be aimitted uatil the singing of the full choir. This hint sbould be sufficient to bring the people on time. The service at 8.15 was again largely attended aad the address on “Woe to them that are ai ease in Zion” was fuil of power and effact,

Mies Lottie McWade, of Souris West, leaves home today to take a course of instruction in kindergarten work in Char- lottetown. Miss Lottie isa general favorite in the east, and there is no doubt but sha will give a good account of herself in the new sphere of life on which shé is about to enter.
